I gotta link up to my buddy Sean’s plane building blog. He is building his own 4 passenger plane and if you get some time check it out. It has a pretty detailed “progress report” as well as an overview of the project and links to parts suppliers and other builders. I took a little liberty and leeched his picture of an example finished plane.

Ronna went to the Dells, Sid went to Paula’s, Alex hung with Ashley.
It was just me and the B-Man hangin’ together. We decided to go to Toy ‘R Us for a new Transformer and to the new Wallace & Gromit movie. The movie was very good. Great for the kids with plenty of clever in-jokes for the parents. I would say it certainly rivaled the Shrek series.
Had a nice weekend. Friday night went to the Belmont game at Pec. Pec won 29-0. Unfortunately Belmont lost Gaulke to injury at the end of the 1st half and Tyson early in the 2nd half. Don’t know if that would have changed the outcome, but it certainly may have kept it more competitive. Pec looks very tough. They might be a little one dimensional on offense though. Their QB Burkeland is easily the difference maker on offense. He may not be real accurate (2 for 12 Friday night), but he creates a lot problems for the defense with his running ability. Pec’s standard running game is not real dominant though. When they ran basic off-tackle and misdirection, Belmont held them down. The real strength of their team is the defense. They have good size, better than average hitters and great team speed. They will walk through conference and go into the playofs undefeated.
I see Belmont finishing with only one loss. I think Potosi will give them a battle in two weeks and DeSoto may be a tough NC game, but I can’t see either of these teams beating them.
Saturday I went to the Badger game. It was a great game, perfect weather and our new season tickets are nice. I really like the view of the field we get. Plus with aisle seats and the new gate, it’s easy in - easy out.
Calhoun is a difference maker for them. He has great lateral movement. I can’t remember Bowling Green getting a single straight on tackle against him. Very elusive!
One other take away from the game was the hit on Stocco in the 1st quarter. He got absolutly ROCKED! Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a hit quite like that one. I still can’t believe he came back to play after that one. A true “slobberknocker”.
As usual we went camping at Lake Joy. We always have a good time there. Alex likes it for the boys. The one thing we did run into this weekend that we usually don’t is LOUD campers. The guys next to us were flat out yelling at 1:00 in the morning. It doesn’t bother me too bad though.
Sunday night Ronna and I went to Red Eye at the Millenium. Pretty good movie. The antagonist was really creepy. And Rachel McAdams is very easy to root for
On another note from the theatre, we had something really funny happen by us. We were in line getting our tickets and popcorn. This is done at the concession stand which they do on the slower nights instead of a dedicated ticket seller. Another couple was behind us and a lady and her husband walked in and went straight to the counter next to us. The lady says to the guy helping us “If our movie has already started do we have to wait in line and get tickets?”. The worker says politely “Yes you do.” (remember they would be 3rd in line…not 12th or 20th). The lady says “I can’t believe this!” I couldn’t resist and turned to her and said “Or you could just show up on time?” Needless to say she shut up and waited the minute to get in.
Monday night I took the family to the Iowa County Fair in Point. We watched the demolition derby which was fun. Brady got a kick out of it.
My one question about the county fair is this - Why are there so many dirtballs and deviants there? We go to Dairy Days in Platteville every year which is essentially the same thing sans farm animals. They don’t have these toothless miscreants hanging all over the place? I just don’t know why but the answer may make a great dissertation for a psychology graduate.
Finally got a new home page. Pretty spartan at the moment but hope to improve it soon. Also got the forums up and running. Got a few brave souls signed on already. It could produce some pretty good banter.
I have published a personal event calendar. Figure it should be convenient for me as well as other family members. We Argall’s are good at forgetting dates.
The one thing I will have to figure out is how to customize the blog, forums and calendar so that they are linked back to the home page.
Also have to update my MHTC experience. The only way to get something done is to beg. After I did the domain transfer they didn’t update their DNS servers for about a week. Had to call once and then e-mail them a few days later. Not real happy. I will probably switch over to Mediacom high speed cable soon. Should be about the same price for considerably better speeds. Plus without them hosting EdArgall.com there is no incentive to stay.
Finally my first blog on EdArgall.com!
I’m using Wordpress which seems alright. Took a while to get it working in no small thanks to MHTC. Requested to have the nameserver updated to BlueHost and it took them 5 days and they only did it because I had to nag. As much as MHTC sucked, BlueHost rocks! I don’t know where I will find the time but there are tons of new things I will be able to do on my website now.
By the way, did you see the HOT! Chick on TV Sunday night. She was smokin’!
